Study Report of the Reproductive Centers in UK

Chengdu women’s and children’s central hospital

ImageWith the strong support of the Chengdu Health Planning Commission, Chengdu Foreign Affairs Office and leaders at all levels of our hospital, and with the strong assistance of GDK, I come to the affiliated hospital of Imperial College and the reproductive centers in UK for a three-month study. As the head of this team, I pledged on behalf of nine members of my team at the pre-trip meeting that we would convey the good image of Chinese doctors and help each other during our study. Then, after a 14-hour flight, We arrived in London, England, the following is an overview of my work and life aspects in the course of my study.

After training, video interview and pre-departure meeting, nine doctors majoring in reproductive medicine, ICU, general practice, infection control, geriatrics, nursing, quality control and mammary and thyroid surgery flied to the Affiliated Hospital of Imperial College for a three-month study.

Be honest and open and act with integrity

Never discriminate unfairly against patients or colleagues

Never abuse your patients’ trust in you or the public’s trust in the profession

Treat patients politely and considerately

Respect patients’ rights to confidentiality

Listen to concerns, give them appropriate information, their treatment is their choice.

Something about St. Mary's Hospital，Founded in 1845, the hospital has 495 beds.

3.Pay great attention to patients' privacy, even in elevators.Never discuss patient information with anyone in a social conversation.

Today, we came to the occupational therapy center of the hospital affiliated to Croydon University and had a medical check-up. The hospital looks very warm, not like a hospital at all. It even feels like a shopping mall. The physical examination center is set up like a living room at home. The patient felt no depression at all in this kind of hospital.

Introduction of Croydon university hospital

Workflow: employed 3887 staff and had 400 volunteers.

Planned care: provided 2451 inpatient operations,22645 day case procedures and 353829 outpatient appointments.

Maternity: delivered 3717 babies including 2.72% home deliveries and received 92.98% positive recommendations.

Income: total income during 2017/18 of 293.1million， a 5.7% growth compared to the previous year.
